YUKI SHIINA

MASTER TEACHER

Yuki Shiina is the founder of Zen Kokyū and author of numerous books on breathing. Drawing from a 1757 text by Zen master Hakuin, she systematized Zen Kokyū as a historical Japanese breathing method for health. After overcoming unexplained chronic conditions through this practice, she dedicated herself to sharing this simple method that anyone can do. Today she teaches worldwide—including workshops at the Tokyo National Museum—and also practices natural rice farming in Nagano. Through Zen Kokyū, she guides people to restore balance, vitality, and a natural state of well-being. Learn more about Yuki’s practice

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

  • We are alive because we breathe. But what kind of breathing are you doing? Is it the kind of breath that creates energy, or the kind that consumes it?

In today’s convenient and comfortable lifestyle, many of us have forgotten how to breathe well. So, what is our original, natural, and truly powerful way of breathing?

Unlike many practices that emphasize effort, Zen Kokyū teaches relaxation, natural posture, and gentle breath to restore balance and vitality. In this workshop, participants will learn how to release unnecessary tension, calm the mind, and reconnect with their natural energy. Suitable for all levels, no prior experience required.

True strength is born from relaxation. Experience Zen Kokyū and let it deepen your Qigong practice.
